On Friday, December 7th the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolled through the Village of Wauwatosa at 4:15 p.m. In the 16 degree weather people of all ages gathered, awaiting the train. This year was especially special for two reasons. For one it was Canadian Pacific’s 20th Annual Year of the Holiday Train. The train travels for months across the country surrounding the holidays, in fact there are two trains. And for Wauwatosa, they got to see their very own, Willy Porter on the CP stage. Porter played alongside The Trews for the 45 minute show.
The annual event is a big deal for local food pantry, Tosa Cares. In addition to the $7,000 donation given from CP, food collection numbers are always high, and the weekend will be spent sorting and counting. The stop wouldn’t be possible without Tosa Cares. As Canadian Pacific says, bring the food pantry, the people, and we’ll bring the train.
Despite the unbearably cold weather, by the time the train left you could feel the holiday cheer in the air.
